As people are becoming more and more
conscious of their health, several forms of workout regimens are getting popular. There is one such regimen that has been existing on this planet since several centuries and has been benefiting everyone who is taking it up. You guessed it right. We’re talking about Yoga.
Yoga is a traditional way of exercise that comprises stretching exercises, breathing exercises, meditation and self-control. Besides making you physically fit, Yoga also improves your mental health and promises you a wonderful life. It consists of several exercises that focus on every body part and every illness existing on earth. There are also a few more reasons why Yoga is considered as the best form of exercise.
Firstly,
Yoga is suitable for people for all ages and having any kind of ailments. So, if your gym trainer tells you that you cannot undertake a particular exercise because you are going through cardiovascular problems, you can easily switch to Yoga. No Yoga practitioner would tell you that Yoga is unsafe for a certain period or a certain illness.

Secondly, Yoga begins with a lot of warm up exercises that not only make your body ready for further exercises but also help you get comfortable with your your own body organs.
Thirdly, in Yoga, after every set of 4-5 exercises, you are supposed to do ‘Shavasana’ which is lying on the floor in order to relax. As a result, you don’t get fatigued after a Yoga session. It also reduces any chances of anxiety, stress and high blood pressure.
A Yoga session usually has a sub-session of breathing exercises which is called ‘Pranayam’. In this session, you are supposed to close your eyes and focus on your breath. Then you are asked to manipulate your breath by holding your breath, alternatively breathing from only one nostril and the likes. In this session, your concentration level, breathing capabilities and self-control get a boost. As a result, you feel refreshed when you finish your Yoga session.
To sum up, Yoga is a better form of exercise because it includes stretching exercises that increase your flexibility, without being a strenuous activity. It includes warm up sessions that relax your body parts and it also allows you to rest after rigorous exercises. As a result, you actually lose weight and stay fit without sweating, in the literal sense! Through breathing exercises and meditation, Yoga teaches you self-control which is one of the most essential traits that any person must possess in order to succeed in life.
